CASCADES DE COO

When I stayed two days in the belgian Ardennes, I also visited the little village of Coo which is well known for its waterfall on the river Amblève. It has a 15-meter drop, making it the most important waterfall in Belgium. In short the Niagara Falls of Belgium.

At the foot of the Coo waterfall, a leisure park provides the tourist with various activities such as mini-golf, gokarting and kayaking. During the high season an amusement park is open and there is a chairlift that takes you up to the heights above the village. From there you have a magnificent view over the Amblève valley.

When I was there the high season was over and I could admire the beautiful landscape without a crowd of tourists.

I had to go down the whole way

to come close to the waterfalls

although it is not very high, it looks quite impressive and makes a lot of noise !

around the Cascade, little restaurants

several cute cafés

and beautiful flowers over the little bridge

The water was quite chilly but one brave girl nevertheless crossed the river by foot
